What is ART?

Change the way difficult experiences are stored in the brain.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy is a form of psychotherapy with roots in existing evidence-based treatments, shown to achieve benefits much more rapidly than traditional talk therapy. Clients dealing with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD and many other mental and physical conditions often experience meaningful change starting in the very first session.

The process uses relaxing eye movements combined with a technique called Voluntary Memory/Image Replacement to change the way negative images and memories are stored in the brain. The end result is that traumas and difficult life experiences no longer trigger strong emotions or physical reactions.

Why ART Works

Fast. Gentle. Lasting.

Unlike many forms of therapy, ART doesn't require you to spend weeks or months reliving painful memories. The process is structured to move you through difficult material efficiently — and most clients leave each session feeling noticeably lighter.

ART is not a new-age technique. It's grounded in CBT, EMDR, gestalt therapy and other validated approaches, adapted into a coherent, structured protocol that consistently produces rapid results.

How It Works

Three things that make ART different.

ART is grounded in well-established psychotherapy techniques. What sets it apart is how quickly it works — and how little you have to relive.

1

Eye Movements

Like EMDR, ART uses guided, relaxing eye movements to help the brain reprocess difficult memories. You remain fully aware and in control throughout. There is no trance state.

2

Voluntary Image Replacement

Rather than dwelling on painful memories, ART uses a technique that lets you replace distressing mental images with ones you choose. You direct the replacement. The therapist guides the process, but the new image is always yours.

3

No Narration Required

You do not have to talk about what happened. You can hold the memory privately while the therapy does its work. Many clients find this to be a profound relief.

"Clients do not even have to talk about their traumas or difficult life experiences with the therapist to achieve recovery."

Good to Know

A few important things about ART.

1

ART is not hypnosis

You are fully conscious and aware throughout every session. There is no trance state and no suggestion. You remain in control the entire time.

2

You stay in control

The therapist guides the process, but all decisions are made by you. Nothing happens without your direction. The client is always in charge.

3

Grounded in evidence

ART draws on CBT, EMDR, gestalt therapy and other validated approaches. It's structured and well-researched, not experimental.

4

Difficult material moves quickly

ART is designed to move you past the place where you are stuck, rapidly toward growth and positive change rather than dwelling in the difficulty.
