Talk Therapy
Therapy designed to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and make the changes you want to make, in the life you're actually living.
Get in TouchUnderstanding yourself is the first step toward change.
Talk therapy is a collaborative process between you and your therapist. It's honest, practical and shaped entirely around what you bring. There's no script, no pressure to have things figured out before you arrive, just a safe space to explore what's going on and start working toward something better.
At Blossom, we draw on four main approaches, often combining them within the same session depending on what fits you best.
How we work.
We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all model. The framework we use depends on you, what you're working through, and what feels most useful.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT focuses on the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. By identifying and challenging unhelpful thinking patterns, you can shift your emotional responses and change how you act in the world. It's practical, evidence-based and one of the most widely researched forms of therapy available.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
ACT helps you accept what is outside your control and commit to actions that align with your values. Rather than fighting difficult thoughts and feelings, ACT teaches you to hold them differently — making room for them without letting them run the show. It's particularly effective for anxiety, depression and chronic stress.
Solution-Focused Therapy
Solution-Focused therapy is goal-directed and collaborative. In this approach, you are the expert on your own life. Your therapist's role is to help you recognize and build on the resources and strengths you already have, with an emphasis on where you're going, not just where you've been.
Humanistic Approach
A humanistic approach means your therapist meets you exactly where you are, without judgment and without a fixed agenda. It's grounded in the belief that each person holds their own capacity for growth and healing. The therapist's job is to create the conditions for that to happen, not to direct it.
"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." Carl Rogers
