How we work with you.
Every approach we use is chosen for a reason. Here's what each one looks like in practice — and how we figure out what's right for you.

The right fit for the right person.
The approach we use depends on your age, what you're working through, and what feels right to you. Often we combine methods within the same session. You won't be boxed in.

Talk Therapy
Older Children · Teens · AdultsTalk therapy helps you understand yourself better and make the changes you're looking for. Honest, collaborative and shaped around what you bring each week.
CBT challenges unhelpful thought patterns. ACT helps you accept what's outside your control and commit to actions aligned with your values. Solution-Focused therapy works from your strengths. A Humanistic approach means your therapist meets you exactly where you are, without judgment.
"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." Carl Rogers
Play Therapy
Children Ages 6–12Children don't always have the words for what they're feeling — and they don't need them. Play therapy uses art, games, storytelling, role play, Lego, music and puppets to help children express and process their inner world.
We work to "chase the why." Children who struggle usually want to do well. When they can't, they're typically missing a skill, not choosing to be difficult.
Family Therapy
Families & ParentsFamily therapy brings the people who matter most into the room together. Rather than working on one person in isolation, we look at the relationships between people — how patterns develop and how they can shift.
Sessions might involve the whole family or just one or two members. We also offer parenting support for caregivers who want to respond more effectively to their children's needs.
"Safety is not just the absence of fear. It is also the presence of connection." Stephen Porges
Accelerated Resolution Therapy
Trauma & RecoveryART is an evidence-based psychotherapy that reprograms how distressing memories are stored in the brain. Using guided eye movements and a technique called Voluntary Memory/Image Replacement, it can achieve results much more rapidly than traditional approaches — often within 1 to 5 sessions.
You are in control throughout. ART is not hypnosis. You don't need to talk about your trauma in detail for it to work.
Psychoeducational Assessments
Children & TeensA psychoeducational assessment is a thorough evaluation of a student's learning profile — cognitive ability, academic skills, attention and behaviour. It gives families a clear picture of strengths and challenges, and gives schools the documentation they need to put supports in place.
Assessments are conducted by Teresa Devost, Registered Psychologist.
